Katya Chorover has joined the team of musicians and educators at Cascadia Music as their new Executive Director! She and her husband John Grandt moved back to the valley after over a decade in Colorado. Their connection to the area dates back to the early 90s.
Chorover brings a background in music as a touring singer-songwriter with three releases on her own label (check out her music on streaming services), The Clearing (1998), Off the Map (2001) and Big Big Love (2010). She is a certified educator with a Masters in Ed from Adams State University, (Alamosa, CO) where she graduated with a specialty in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education. She has worked in a variety of nonprofit organizations and is currently Board Chair for a nonprofit residential care facility for developmentally disabled adults in Geneva NY. She has taught a wide range of ages in school districts and private educational settings throughout her career.
Katya is thrilled to have the opportunity to join Cascadia Music and to support its mission to “build community through sharing the joy of music” in the Methow Valley!
